Other than the fact that each take holds close ties to significant branding of the multi-sport events, the utilization of this silhouette makes complete sense as Christian Tresser – the original designer of the sneaker – drew heavy inspiration from Japanese bullet trains which eventually resulted in the wavy upper construction we've all come to know and admire today.
