1940s Signed Spratling/Silson  Pewter Mexico Owl Pin. Produced by Victor Silson Company of New York produced under Spratling Design - Hallmark on Verso Spratling of Mexico Silson Inc. William Spratling designed pieces made of sterling silver and often used amethyst for the eyes. During his lifetime he agreed to provide some of his designs to the Silson Company in New York to create a more affordable line. Silson fabricated the Spratling designs in silver plate over a non-sterling material.
